Equality in Tourism successfully crowdfunded £16,600 from 156 supporters on Chuffed in November 2017.
Equality in Tourism aimed to raise £16,600 to empower 30 Tanzanian female farmers by proving them a training programme for 6 months, and helping them form a cooperative.
Equality in Tourism raised £16,118 on their Chuffed campaign, with their last donation to ensure they reached their target coming in moment after their campaign ended. Equality in Tourism hired us to organise and create their strategy and the necessary content for their crowdfunding campaign, whilst the Equality in Tourism team worked from the UK and Tanzania to bring the project to life. We ran an engaging email marketing campaign which was backed up by a social media and PR campaign.
Since finishing their crowdfunding campaign, Equality in Tourism has delivered the training to their 30 pilot women. All of whom have expressed that the modern farming techniques they learnt have increased their yields and the quality of their produce. The women’ cooperative is under the process of being registered and once that happens, the children’s creche can be set up (they need 6 months upfront rent and costs for this). There are also over 30 local hotels interested in collaborating with the female farmers once the cooperative registration is complete.
Tricia said this about her experience of crowdfunding and working with us, “Equality in Tourism has been blessed with the fantastic contribution that Crowdfund 360 and Samantha has made to our crowdfunding campaign. She is an accomplished strategist, wordsmith, communicator and is a pleasure to work with. Crowdfund 360 easily understood our ambitions, and was flexible and open and fitted in well with our team. Happily we had a really successful outcome.”
