Oxford University Physics student Ves successfully crowdfunded £31,487 from 201 supporters on Chuffed in the September 2018.
Ves is a Serbian physics student at the University of Oxford. He is the only Serbian student at Oxford as there are no scholarships available for Serbian students. He is a third year student and had to crowdfund his last year’s tuition fees.
Ves was supported in his campaign not only by us but also a Serbian organisation which provides scholarships to Serbian students (that go to Cambridge). The campaign succeeded through our detailed, structured strategy and email marketing, social media and PR campaigns as well as from having an extra access to a wide network of British-educated Serbs. Ves was frequently on the TV and radio in Serbia and admits he said he really enjoyed the radio marketing aspect of the campaign. Before this campaign, Ves had never used email marketing tools, never made a video, never appeared on TV nor asked for so much from his friends, family and wider networks. We are really happy to have taught him all these skills which he will go on to use in every aspect of his life.
Since finishing his campaign, he has continued studying at Oxford, and is in the process of fulfilling his rewards.
We recently received an update from Ves saying he has successfully finished his BA and has now made the offer for the MMathPhys (Masters in Mathematical and Theoretical Physics), also at Oxford which was a dream come true for him! He is simultaneously looking for a place to study a PhD!
