OwnBrown crowdfunded £12,235, which was 55% of their target from 121 supporters on Indiegogo in early 2018.
OwnBrown was raising funds to take their business to the next level. Currently, they make nude tights for women of colour in four shades. They used crowdfunding to launch their new lingerie range.
Although OwnBrown failed to reach their crowdfunding target. The response they had for their lingerie was unprecedented. They were featured in 12 press pieces over a 5 week period. Their social media and email engagement also increased significantly, they held some pop-up events to sell their lingerie and they also took part in a Channel 4 show aimed at entrepreneurs.
Since finishing their crowdfunding campaign, they have gone on to feature in London Fashion Week and have been showcased at Aston Martin in Mayfair London. They have also received more press coverage. They have also understood their target demographic much more thanks to the insights gained from the campaign. Nadine, the CEO has also started a Degree in Marketing in order to further boost OwnBrown now that they are no longer crowdfunding. They have also developed new sizes and launched a new colour too. Finally in regards to their social aspect, Ownbrown’s charity partner in the Congo opened a toy library thanks to the money raised from this crowdfunding campaign.
Nadine, Founder of Ownbrown, wrote this about her experiences of using our services, “We dived into this crowdfunding campaign not really knowing how it will be. Thanks to Jes’ knowledge and availability, we were able to always have an overview, stay focused and motivated. The best part was that Jes really understood the business we are in and tailored a press piece that really drew UK major media’s attention. We definitively recommend crowdfund-360 services.”
